Powell believes this to be the case because the country does not have the population base to focus only on domestic. In the interview the subject also comes up of how important it is for Canada to retain tariff free trade with the United States.

Last year the Korean food and beverage industry was named the second largest market in Asia for processed organic food and beverage showing a significant growth potential.

It's said that the majority, around 60% - 70% of organic food in Korea is imported, including 85% of the ingredients used in organic food processing.

Joyce Shin of Innotec Solutions and Kwangsoon Ahn marketing project manager for Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation spoke about the state of the Korean food and beverage industry.
