Lucas Bols’ recent one day forum, at The Watershed in Bristol covered trends and serves to the changing face of the UK on-trade, to enhance success in the bar trade. One of the products on show was L’Aperitivo, the new spirit based aperitif from Galliano. It's a refreshing citrus based cocktail prepared by Ago using provenance sourced tangerines, oranges and grapefruit with an ABV of 24%. Claire Phoenix interviewed Galliano marketing director Quirijn de Koning about the launch of this exciting and versatile orange flavoured aperitif with plans to rival Campari. |

A study has recently shown that 97% of food is purchased from supermarkets with the big chains accounting for three out of four sales. However, Caprera are looking to disrupt this trend as the online marketplace aims be a one stop shop for independent food and drink producers. Creative Nature was a brand that was struggling and sinking with heavy losses of £56,000. Selling a wide range of products that wasn't synonymous with its current healthy food image. However, in 2012 Julianne Ponan took a risk and bought the brand. Her first moves were to cut costs and change the focus of the company to turing Creative Nature's attention to the superfood market moves that were taken to make the company successful. Darren Wood spoke with Julianne as she described why she took a risk on the brand, how hard it was to turn the company's fortunes around and her vision for the future. |

During the 20th anniversary of Vitafoods 2016, FoodBev Media's Darren Wood spoke with Mark Johnson of Bioenergy Ribose. Mark explained that Ribose is a natural sugar that the body makes and uses to produce the energy molecules for cells within the body.
